The ThunderBirdz is a new team to Cabarrus County with the 2025 competition year being our inaugural year. We are representatives of the FIRST program, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, the first FIRST team in our county, see below for more information.
Students on team ThunderBirdz at Cox Mill High School have completed one FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) for high school studnets. OUr aim is to help young people discover and develop a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The unltimate "Sport for the Mind" challenges students to build and profram industrial-sized robots to play a new game every year. We encourage people to be open about their opinions when it comes to building and collaborating on the tasks of the robot and to be inclusive about all groups. We encourage a family style team, if one of us struggles, we all pitch in to help them find a solution.
